Are parenting arrangements made during Family Dispute Resolution legally binding?

3 things can happen with agreements reached in FDR

To leave them as informal arrangements or turn them into legally binding agreements?  It's your choice.

Three things can happen with the agreements reached in family dispute resolution:

  1. Agreements reached in FDR sessions are not legally binding. In the spirit of mediation, both parties will go away in good faith and uphold these agreements.
  2. By signing and dating the agreements turns the agreements into a Parenting Plan which although not legally binding can form the basis for legal agreements and be easily converted into Consent Orders
  3. A parenting plan with a Certificate 60i are the two documents required to lodge in court to turn the agreements into Consent Orders which are legally binding.
